“Rumi” (in the ancient Incan language of Quechua, Rumi means “stone” or “like a rock”) is a former Associate Clinical Professor of Surgery at NYU, and a board-certified endodontist with a private practice in the heart of New York City.  He is also a shamanic practitioner, intuitive healer and Reiki master. Rumi has expanded his practice by teaching spiritual consciousness and bridging the gap between the contemporary mindset and indigenous wisdom; between "the Eagle and the Condor.  He brings a rich background of shamanic wisdom and knowledge, having studied under renowned yachaks, curanderos, shamans and wisdom-keepers in both Americas.  He is a founding member of the Amaroo Sanctuary, a healing and teaching refuge in the stunning and picturesque Andes mountains of Ecuador.  Rumi offers multiple types of energy healings based on ancient Andean and Amazonian indigenous traditions, including shamanic candle, egg and palm readings, Andean limpia (cleansing) ceremonies, reiki, and more.
